Back Home in Napa With Family, Friends, Food and Wine

I'm back to this Napa lifestyle busy visiting wine bars, gourmet restaurants, catching up with friends, and enjoying Californian cuisine at its best at home with my family. No time to get into details and therefore I am just posting some pictures from our first beautiful weekend home. I am amazed at how alive Napa downtown has become but also shocked at the sky high prices of everything! My friends are hanging out while opening up $75 wine bottles like it ain't no thang! A box of homemade biscotti at he farmer's market I bought cost $18. Thank god we've got the euro-dollar going in our favor! Here are some pics:

Drinking Barbera at Reverie Winery in Calistoga

Old friends all reunited by wine, all drawn back into the biz

Delicious Brunch at Calistoga Inn

Enjoying an exclusive Reverie Cab Reserve

Happy and driving with the top down!

Dad's grill, St. Helena Olive Oil, Wine and Brunch

No better place to be drinking Cab Franc than a sequioa grove!

Places to drink:
Oxbow Wine Bar: Napa
Zin's Valley : Napa

Places to eat:
Savino family house: grilled Mahi Mahi, grilled veggies, giant seared scallops, vegetable pasta, burrata
Bistro Sabor: Napa - Gourmet clean and fresh Mexican cuisine. I had a great citrus, avocado salad.
Calistoga Inn: Calistoga - Quaint atmosphere for a Sunday brunch. Excellent grilled asparagus scrambled eggs with crab cakes and roasted potatoes.

Places to wine taste:
Ceja Vineyards or wine bar: Carneros/Napa AMAZING PINOT NOIR!
Reverie Winery: Calistoga, renowned Diamond Creek area, loved the Cab Franc! Small winery.

And stay tuned for next week's post on L.A.!

  3. Looks like you're having a great time! Must be great to be back home, even if $75 for a bottle of wine is pushing it, IMO.
