I’ve been bad! Low season here has got me moving slow and lazy about posting on my blog! But I like to think it’s also because there is less going on in the area and we all need our time for winter hibernation. As soon as the sun came out one beautiful Sunday morning, we hopped in the car with some friends for a big lunch at a real agriturismo in Monforte called Ca Brusà. Only open on the weekends for lunch and dinner, their true love is making wine! Here are some pics from our lunch:

Rustic wheel outside Ca Brusà

Changing seasons in Monforte
Classic Dolcetto paired with locally made salumi and the rest of the antipasti to follow
Veg option for me – homemade giardiniera and red peppers sotto aceto
Rabbit salad with fresh greens and pomegranate seeds (the favorite dish of the day)
Leek flan and cotechino with fonduta
After some tajarin pasta, homemade Bugie (Carnevale cookies) and some Grappa we were ready for a walk!

The days are getting longer and before we knew it, 4:30 p.m. had already rolled around. If you want a real family run traditional style agriturismo with everything homemade from the wine to the cookies, come here and just enjoy the day!
