Sovversivi Del Gusto… a photographic journey around Italy to find inspirational wine makers, farmers, restauranteurs, etc. who sometimes do things the hard way but the “right” way. Most of them don’t do their jobs for money but do it because they care about keeping Italian traditions alive.

Sunday I went to a book presentation where we did tastings with Marco Salzotto, photographer, and writer Michele Marziani. They shared their stories like one about an accountant who gave up her well- paid job to sit on a tractor and cultivate rice. A rice that can be eaten plain, full of flavor. These are the true “sovversivi” (food rebels!) Michele’s poetic narrations along with Marco Salzotto’s photos are well deserving of the International Gourmand Award’s Best Food and Wine Photographic Book.
